In Year One we grew planted sunflower seeds and watched them grow. This is Redwanul’s animation of it. Well done Redwanul!
1KH Astronaut Adventure
Year 1 round up their topic on space with a visit to the Museum of Industry and Science. It was fantastic. We learnt all about Neil Armstrong as well as trying on clothes similar to his and trying out some of the exercises he would have had to do. We also had fun in the exhibitions with some “hands on” learning. We had a super day!

A Recent Trip to the Theatre….
Year One were lucky enough to see Cinderella at Manchester Opera House last Thursday. Here are a few of the pictures from our trip. A huge well done to ALL of year one for their outstanding behaviour – lot’s of people were complimenting you.

Fri 16th Dec – Break up for Christmas Holidays. (3.15pm)

Community Heroes.
A Few Community Heroes…. on PhotoPeach
After a week of finding heroes in our favourite stories, we realised that not all heroes are SUPER heroes. The police, fire brigade, nurses,doctors, lollipop crossing, and many more people can be heroes. Not forgetting children who do lovely things in the community too, like beavers and brownies. We have had lots of visits from community heroes. Look at year 1 interviewing Ben the Policeman, Gemma our school nurse and Mrs Smirk with one of her Beavers. Can you think of any other heroes in the community?
What Makes a Hero?
This half term, year 1 have been thinking about which qualities make a good hero. Our topic started with a visit from Banana Man. He delivered our new book and stayed to read it to us! We really liked it.
